We are SO excited for NYC2023, and we hope you are, too! NYC is an amazing, life-changing, once-in-a-lifetime experience that you don’t want to miss! Many students who have attended will tell you that NYC was one of the most spiritually significant times of their lives. We desire for all students to have the same experience and opportunity!


What is NYC?

Nazarene Youth Conference (NYC) is a vibrant, life-changing youth event held every four years in different locations across the United States and Canada. Nazarene high school students from all around North America gather together in a time of worship, teaching, and community outreach, united by a common belief in Jesus Christ.

By changing locations every four years it allows the Nazarene Church to help make a difference in various cities throughout the USA. In the past, groups have painted homes for the elderly, cleaned up large areas, provided clean water for families by building filters, created new playgrounds for the community, fed needy families, provided baby and childcare supplies for homeless and low-income families, and so much more. We will have a better idea of this year’s community outreach projects as we get closer to the event.


Who can attend?

Any student who is in 8th-12th grade during the 2022-2023 school year is eligible to attend. Adult sponsors must be at least 23 years of age by July 4, 2023, be actively involved in their local Nazarene church, and have a completed application (including Naz Safe training and background check) and a pastoral recommendation.


Where is NYC2023?

Tampa Bay, Florida! All of the conference sessions will be held at Amalie Arena.


What is the theme of NYC2023?

OVERFLOW. Since the earliest days, God has displayed His ongoing movement, power, and presence in and through this life-giving element... water. We will explore how we become conduits of hope, healing and new life through the rivers of living water that overflow through us. Romans 15:13 says, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may OVERFLOW with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”


What will we do while we are there?

Aside from the conference itself – which includes special speakers, artists, live concerts, ministry projects, and much more – we will be going on other excursions in Tampa Bay and Orlando, including Busch Gardens, the beach, Disneyworld, and more!


How will we get there?

We will fly from Phoenix into Tampa, FL, to attend NYC and some pre-event functions, then we will head to Orlando after NYC ends. We will then fly back to Phoenix from Orlando. Flight information will be made available as we finalize more details of the trip.


What do I need to do to register for NYC?

1. Tell your Youth Pastor/Leader you want to go! (He/She will ask for your parent’s email address, or for your email address if you are a sponsor.)

2. The District Coordinator will send a registration invitation email to the parent/sponsor.

*Sponsors, you will need to complete the Naz Safe training, pass a background check, and have a reference from your pastor before you will receive a registration link via email.

3. Parent/sponsor creates a family account using the unique code in the invitation email.

4. Parent/sponsor completes registration questions, including digital signature of the Medical Liability Release form.
*Online registration must be completed by the parent/guardian, as it contains legal waivers and medical information.

5. Make sure to turn in your $150 deposit to your Youth Pastor/Leader by August 10, 2022. *See below for more details about cost and payments.


So... What is the total cost of NYC?



That’s a lot of money! What does it include?

The registration fee is all-inclusive and pays for travel, lodging, programming (including speakers, concerts, ministry projects, Rec Hall, and more at NYC). It also includes some swag, most meals during the trip, and our excursions. You will only need to bring extra spending money if you’d like to be able to purchase NYC merchandise or other souvenirs during the trip.

How do I come up with $2500 in just a year?

We have lots of ideas for fundraisers! Rummage sales, bake sales, yard work, dinners at church, silent auctions, partnering with local businesses to sell various items... there are so many ways to raise money. You could also write sponsorship letters or put together a GoFundMe or similar page for yourself or your youth group. If you have other ideas you’d like to share with other groups, please share it with us on


How do I make payments?

All payments will be made to your home church, and the churches will send payments to the NYC Coordinator. The payment schedule on the next page indicates when churches need to make payments, so your Youth Pastor/Leader will communicate with you when you need to turn in money to him/her. The payment schedule has been created to help you plan and budget, and also to keep you on track with the hard due dates the district has to follow.


How will students be supervised in such a large crowd?

As we have in years past, we will break our group up into smaller groups. This will be done within each church group (depending on their sizes and how many leaders they have) and/or broken down in small groups within the district. Each leader will be responsible for 3-5 students each, for those students’ whereabouts and safety; and students are responsible to let their leader know where they are at all times. Students are never allowed to go anywhere without a buddy, and they will not be allowed to leave a building without an adult (e.g. to walk back to the hotel).
